You’ll see a mix of Kpop and Jpop/rock on this blog. Sometimes I go a little spastic with UVERworld/Japanese bands because, well I’m Japanese and my country and its music will always be my first love. So if you don’t like Japanese stuff, it’s best to not follow, ok? :)

I got an anon question one day, asking me why I liked UVERworld, the anon didn’t “get what [I] think is so great about them.” This was my response:

You just don’t understand. It’s probably because you don’t recognize talent when you hear it or understand how difficult it is to compose music, play just about any instrument, and have a unique sound.
Also, you probably don’t like them because they aren’t the hottest things in the world. But have you seen how cute Akira is? XD That kouhai with the beard LOL omg he’s the cutest thing.
Talent, my dear anon. Talent is what makes UVERworld my ichiban. Takuya’s voice, so unique and unmistakable, is what makes UVERworld my ichiban. The fact that I look at the lyrics in the sleeve and see “Words: TAKUYA∞ Music: UVERworld” instead of some random people’s names is what makes UVERworld my ichiban.
The fact that Nobuto can’t sing worth a flip, but they manage to incorporate him anyway into the songs is what makes UVERworld my ichiban.
The fact that Sangoku Road was able to become the epic, amazing UVERworld and not be brought down because of the loss of two members is what makes UVERworld my ichiban.
The fact that Ace∞Trigger is now TAKUYA∞ but never lost his touch, never lost a grip on who he really is even after being blessed with fame is what makes UVERworld my ichiban.
That they kept saxophone music in their first many songs is what makes UVERworld my ichiban.
That they write their own music, that they are so close is what makes UVERworld my ichiban.
That Akira is so freaking talented with that guitar is what makes UVERworld my ichiban.
That Shintarou can rock dreadlocks and white hair and any other fucking hairstyle he pleases whilst slamming those drums is what makes UVERworld my ichiban.
That Katsuya is such a mom and they all love his cooking is what makes UVERworld my ichiban
That Nobuto and Takuya grew up together, and are best friends, is what makes UVERworld my ichiban.
That every song I hear by this band stirs up SOME kind of emotion inside me is what makes UVERworld everything to me.
I’m sorry that you’re missing out on this wonderful band. I’m sorry that you aren’t able to see all that they are, all that they’ve grown into, all that they’ve worked so hard to become.
I’m sorry you aren’t able to understand and recognize the contribution UVERworld makes to this world, the betterment and enrichment of life that UVER brings.
No one will ever understand what they mean to me or how much they’ve affected my life, changed it, improved it.
I’m a crazy fanboy when it comes to UVERworld, my friends know this. But it’s not “just because.” Their dynamic as a group, as friends, as artists truly makes me fall in love no matter which song I hear.
From Sangoku Road to ∞. There will be no other band to fill their shoes, to replace them in my heart.
That you hate them brings tears to my eyes. One day I hope you’ll be able to find a piece of UVERworld that touches you even if it’s in the smallest most minute way.

Honestly, I never thought it possible, but after I met the family on the Z!U forums about 3 years ago, I understood just what music meant.
UVERworld is not just a band — not just music one can make up and throw to the fan-boys/fan-girls. UVERworld is not just a 5-member, unorganized, untalented group made for making cliche anime openings. Nono, nothing like that.
UVERworld, to me, is a piece of my soul, as well as my heart. To get to me the way that they did back in 05 made me realize just what music was. Until this very day, and of the days to come, I will proudly say that UVERworld has changed my life. Their music, their messages, their love, their sound, their display — everything.
I find it extremely hard to believe that people don’t like them; it’s a shame and quite frankly, unbelievable.
UVERworld = OVER.the.world.
